Kirkwall is the big town & capital of the Orkney Islands, in northern Scotland. A town is number 1 mentioned in the Orkneyinga saga in the year 1046. Cromarty was added to the list inside 1832. Known when well as Wick Burghs, a constituency was represented by a single Member of Parliament. Within 1918 a constituency was abolished & a Kirkwall component was merged into Orkney and Shetland.
